I had a great experience at Canova Medical. I recently had a skin tag removed as well as a cyst removal, and I couldn’t be happier with the treatment I received. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and professional from the moment I arrived, making me feel comfortable throughout the entire process. The procedures were explained clearly, carried out with great care, and everything went smoothly. The team made sure I was at ease and answered all of my questions, which gave me a lot of confidence. The aftercare advice was also very helpful. I would highly recommend Canova Medical to anyone looking for professional, high-quality treatment. Thank you to the whole team for the excellent care!Posted on Google

Had an eyelid skin tag and nose cyst removed by Dr Dutta, the whole experience was very professional, he was lovely, kind and patient with me as I have a very low pain threshold and yes the injections did hurt a lot, but it was worth it as they’re healing very well and so glad I’ve had them removed. His nurse was super and held my hand throughout. Would definitely recommend them for anything you need doing.Posted on Google

Consultation and removal, by one surgeon.
Many clinics see you and then send you elsewhere to be treated. We run consultation and procedure on one pathway wherever it's clinically appropriate because our clinics are surgeon-staffed and our procedure rooms are on site.
If your surgeon recommends removal and you're happy to proceed, it's a completed in a single visit, under local anaesthetic.
A specialist assessment
Your surgeon examines the tag, confirms the treatment plan, and gives a fixed quotation.
No pressure
Proceed, book for later or simply take a specialist opinion. It's your choice.
Carried out by a surgeon
We are one of the few skin tag removal specialists in the country
Looking after it
We explain how to care for the area and what to expect, with complimentary aftercare available if needed
What is a skin tag and why do they form?
Skin tags (medically, acrochordons) are small, soft, flesh-coloured growths that hang from the skin on a tiny stalk. They're benign and harmless but common and easily caught on clothing or jewellery.
They develop most often where skin rubs against skin or clothing like the neck, armpits, eyelids, under the eyes, face, chest and groin. They're more common as you age, during pregnancy, with weight changes or where there's a family tendency to them.
Skin tags don't usually need treatment for medical reasons. People choose removal because a tag catches and snags, bleeds when nicked, or simply sits somewhere they'd rather it didn't. Removal is quick and the result is permanent for the tags treated.
✓Confirmed by a surgeon first
Your surgeon confirms it's a skin tag before any treatment. Occasionally a growth needs closer assessment.
✓Plastic-surgeon technique
Removal is planned for the most discreet result, with minimal to non-existent scarring once healed.
✓Permanent for the tags treated
A removed tag shouldn't return; new tags can still form elsewhere over time.
Two proven methods for your tag.
Your surgeon recommends the right approach based on the size, number and site of your skin tags. Both are quick and done in clinic.
Shave removal
A gentle, precise removal of the tag by shave and cauterisation, using sterile instruments under a topical or local anaesthetic. The tag is gone immediately, with a tiny, discreet treated area.
Surgical excision
For a larger or deep rooted tag, full surgical excision with fine sutures gives the neatest result.
A £95 consultation that never goes to waste.
Your consultation is with the surgeon who would perform your removal. If you proceed with us, you don't pay for it twice and the price you're quoted is the price you pay, confirmed in writing with no hidden extras.
Proceed on the same day
Your surgeon recommends removal, you're happy to go ahead and it's done in the same visit.
You pay the procedure fee only.
Come back another day
You'd rather think it over or pick a date that suits you. Your consultation fee follows you.
£95 comes off your procedure fee.
Consultation only
You want a specialist opinion with no obligation. You'll leave with a diagnosis and a fixed quotation.
No pressure, no upselling.

Skin tag removal, answered.
Is skin tag removal painful?+
There's little to no discomfort. A topical or local anaesthetic is used, so you feel only slight pressure. Most people are surprised how quick and comfortable it is.
How much does skin tag removal cost?+
A consultation is £95 (waived if you proceed on the day, or deducted from your future treatment fee). Shave removal is our most common option, with surgical excision for larger or broad-based tags. Your exact, fixed price is confirmed in writing at the consultation, based on the size, number and type of tag and we never upsell. You can reveal indicative pricing in the fees section above.
How quickly can my skin tag be removed?+
Often in a single visit, where suitable. Our clinics are surgeon-staffed with procedure rooms on site, so where a skin tag is suitable for removal and you're happy to proceed, it can usually be removed in the same visit with our "see and treat" approach.
Will it leave a scar?+
Like our inspiration Antonio Canova, we keep artistry and beauty in mind with our work and shall keep you informed each step of the way. Scarring is minimal to non-existent once fully healed. Because removal is performed by plastic-surgery-trained doctors, it's planned for the most discreet possible result.
Will the skin tag grow back?+
The specific tags we treat should not return. New skin tags can still form elsewhere over time, as that depends on your skin and individual factors.
How long does it take to heal?+
Recovery is very quick most people return to normal activities immediately. Keep the small treated area clean and dry for the first 24 hours.
Do I need a GP referral?+
No referral is needed. You can book a consultation directly at our London, Wilmslow or Liverpool clinics, typically within days.
What's the difference between a skin tag and a wart?+
A skin tag is a soft, smooth, flesh-coloured growth on a small stalk, common in skin folds. A wart is firmer and rougher and is caused by a virus (HPV). Your surgeon will confirm which it is and the right treatment.
