Splendid experience.. was awake throughout the surgical process and didn't even realise that the lipoma was already taken out by the surgeon considering the size of it. Yes the nurse was friendly too. It was a good experience .Posted on Google

Removed in whole
A lipoma needs to be removed completely to give a clean, lasting result. Our surgeons excise the whole lump through a small, well-placed incision under local anaesthetic, then close it carefully.
Your consultation is with the surgeon who would typically perform the removal. A proper assessment, a fixed quotation and treatment arranged within the same visit.
A specialist assessment
Your surgeon examines the lipoma, confirms the diagnosis, and gives a fixed quotation.
No pressure
Proceed, book for later, or simply take a specialist opinion. It's your choice.
Carried out by a surgeon
Done under local anaesthetic where suitable for comfort and precise.
Looking after it
We explain how to care for the area and what to expect with complimentary aftercare appointments if needed
What is a lipoma and why remove it.
A lipoma is a benign (non-cancerous) growth of fat cells just beneath the skin. It is often soft, rubbery, usually movable and harmless.
Lipomas are common and can appear almost anywhere, often on the shoulders, back, neck, arms and trunk. They're slow-growing and painless, though some sit on a nerve or grow large enough to be uncomfortable or noticeable.
People choose removal when a lipoma grows, catches, aches, or simply sits somewhere they'd rather it didn't. Complete surgical excision by an experienced surgeon gives a clean result and makes recurrence rare.
✓Complete excision
The whole lipoma is removed for a clean and lasting result.
✓Incisions in natural creases
Placed along skin lines and closed with fine sutures; scars fade significantly over 6–12 months.
✓Histology where indicated
Larger or atypical lumps are sent for analysis to confirm they're benign.
Complete surgical excision.
Surgical excision under local anaesthetic is the gold-standard treatment for a lipoma and performed by surgeons who do these every week.
Surgical excision
A small incision over the lipoma allows the whole lump to be removed and the wound closed meticulously with fine sutures. This is a clean and complete result under local anaesthetic.
Excision with histology
Larger or deeper lipomas are excised and sent for laboratory analysis to confirm they're benign, with reconstruction planned for a discreet scar.

Lipoma Removal, answered.
Is lipoma removal painful?+
The only discomfort is the initial local anaesthetic injection. Once numb you'll feel pressure and movement but no pain, and simple painkillers are usually all that's needed afterwards.
How much does lipoma removal cost?+
Your price is confirmed in writing at your consultation and depends on the size, location and complexity of the lipoma. A complete surgical excision under local anaesthetic is the standard treatment. The consultation fee is waived if you proceed, or deducted. We never upsell.
Will the lipoma come back?+
Complete removal by experienced surgeons makes recurrence of the treated lipoma rare. New, unrelated lipomas can form elsewhere in people prone to them.
Will I have a scar?+
Like our inspiration Antonio Canova, we keep artistry and beauty in mind with our work and shall keep you informed each step of the way. Incision are made in natural creases, placed along skin lines and closed with fine sutures; scars fade significantly over 6–12 months.
How long is recovery?+
Many patients resume light activities immediately, with strenuous activity restricted briefly. Initial wound healing takes about 1–2 weeks.
Is a lipoma dangerous?+
Lipomas are benign and not dangerous. Removal is usually for comfort or appearance — but any lump that is hard, fixed, painful or growing quickly should be assessed, and we send tissue for histology where indicated.
Do I need a GP referral?+
No referral is needed. You can book directly at our London, Wilmslow or Liverpool clinics.
