Under local anaesthetic, your doctor makes a small incision and removes the cyst intact — including the sac. Removing the sac is important to prevent recurrence. The wound is then closed with fine sutures.
Step 3 — Aftercare
You’ll receive clear written instructions and a follow-up appointment to check healing and remove sutures if needed.
Before & After Expectations
Before treatment:
Arrive with the area clean. Inform your doctor of any medications you’re taking. If the cyst is actively contaminated, antibiotics may be required before Treatments removal.
Immediately after:
A small dressing will cover the site. The area will be numb for a couple of hours.
Healing:
Most wounds heal within 2–3 weeks. A small, flat scar is normal and typically fades over time.
