Qualifications

We at Canova Medical are fully aware that most patients may have considerable concerns about the qualifications and experience of surgeons.

Italy is one of the very few countries in the World were there is a formal training and / or accreditation in the vast array of diverse operations that are grouped under the broad definition of “cosmetic surgery”. We are sure that the following will help to explain many of the issues and reassure you completely about undergoing your surgery with any of our surgeons.

ALL of the surgeons, Italian or not, working with CANOVA MEDICAL have medical qualifications (i.e. medical degrees) recognised by the General Medical Council (GMC) of the United Kingdom, and are ALL fully registered with the General Medical Council. Therefore, ALL are registered to practice medicine within the United Kingdom.

ALL are obliged by a recent law to maintain full private practice medical indemnity insurance with one of the defence organisations (i.e. the Medical Defence Union, the Medical Protection Society, the Medical and Dental Defence Union of Scotland). Therefore, in simple words, they are all “fully insured”.

ALL are also on one of the Specialist Registers of the General Medical Council (i.e. hold a Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training in Plastic Surgery, General Surgery etc) and / or the appropriate specialist module(s) of the British Association of Cosmetic Surgeons (e.g. liposuction, aesthetic breast surgery, facial surgery, hair transplantation etc) .

CANOVA MEDICAL is also registered with the Care Quality Commission.
