Tummy Tuck Manchester (Abdominoplasty)
Has pregnancy or weight loss left you with surplus skin that just won’t go away?
Free Consultation Available
You can read more about it here.
After pregnancy or weight loss, it’s quite normal to feel excited about having a flat, smooth abdomen again. Yet many people find that the skin has stretched so much that it isn’t elastic enough to return to its original taut appearance. This loose flap of skin can have a very negative effect on your confidence.
Tummy tuck surgery (also known as abdominoplasty) removes this excess skin, and in some cases it may also be combined with liposuction to sculpt your body.
The result: You’ll enjoy the flatter, leaner tummy you’ve dreamed of, and you’ll be able to confidently wear bikinis, lingerie and summer fashions with confidence again.

Am I a good candidate for a tummy tuck?
You are a good candidate for tummy tuck if:
- You have completed all your pregnancies.
- You have recently lost a significant amount of weight (whether you’re male or female).
However, tummy tuck surgery is not recommended if you:
- Are thinking of having more children: it’s advisable to have abdominoplasty once you’ve completed all of your pregnancies.
- Have previously had a tummy tuck.
Can I have a tummy tuck after a C section?
You can have a tummy tuck after a C section (caesarean section), though once again this is recommended only if you have completed all of your pregnancies.
Having a tummy tuck after a C section could be useful as you can get rid of the scar made for the caesarean section.
How can I be sure that I’ll love the results of my abdominoplasty?
There are 3 reasons why you can certain that you’ll be thrilled with your tummy tuck at Canova Medical:
- The best tummy tuck Surgeons: The surgical team at Canova is highly experienced with an excellent worldwide reputation. You can meet the team here.

At Canova Medical we want to be totally honest with you, and that includes being clear on what you can and can’t achieve with a tummy tuck. (And we would advise caution against clinics or surgeons who make radical promises… the best tummy tuck Surgeons are ethical and honest.)
Mr Persico told me the truth about the results and the recovery time related to my surgery and this was very important. I still remember when he said: “I cannot make you look like a model, however I can achieve the best results based on how you are. If you are happy with this we can go ahead otherwise, I believe I’m not the right surgeon for you!”
This was priceless for me. If there isn’t the right feeling between a patient and the medical team you don’t achieve great results. Mine were fantastic!
I feel 20 years younger after my tummy tuck and liposuction on my legs. Next step is breast surgery!
However before going ahead I was obviously very well informed about other people’s feedback regarding their surgical experiences. It came out that most of them had a very bad one even going with the top clinics. Unfortunately they didn’t receive the same level of care that I received.
The fact that I was not waiting in the reception room and that I was welcomed warmly was crucial. It’s important to be pampered. Everybody wants that.
I spent much less coming to England for my operation than I would have spent in my own country, even with the top companies but at Canova Medical the whole service was superior.
An experience that I would have again! For me it’s not important where the clinic is. When you find a well-organised medical team, genuine, trustworthy and passionate about what they do, well, this is the most important thing for me. More important than thousands of kilometres of distance!

What can I expect at the tummy tuck Consultation?
During your Consultation, the Surgeon will take measurements of your problem areas and do a thorough examination of your skin and your fatty deposits to have a better knowledge of what the surgery will involve.
Any medical conditions will be discussed and evaluated, to ensure that you are a good candidate for abdominoplasty surgery.
If you have questions about the procedure and its accompanying risks, this is the perfect time to discuss it with your surgeon. You may also want to know where the surgery will take place and how much it will cost over-all.
Who performs the tummy tuck surgery?
Mr Giorgio Netri (Consultant Plastic Surgeon) performs tummy tuck surgery at our Manchester clinic.
Where does the abdominoplasty take place?
Your Consultations will take place at our Manchester cosmetic surgery clinic, where the ambience is elegant yet relaxed. For the maximum in discretion you will never see another patient.
The cosmetic stomach surgery itself will be carried out a local private hospital. You’ll be given full details at your Consultation.
How do I prepare for the tummy tuck?
You will be fully informed about what you can eat and drink before the procedure, and any precautions regarding medications and smoking.
These are guidelines that you should follow to help ensure that your surgery will go smoothly and without any complications.
What happens during the tummy tuck surgery?
A complete tummy tuck (or abdominoplasty) involves cutting the skin from hip to hip just above the pubic area. A complete tummy tuck is usually recommended if there is a significant amount of fat and skin to be removed. It also involves relocating the belly button once the reconstruction is over.
Once the skin is lifted and separated from the abdominal wall, the surgeon can immediately repair the muscle wall to tighten it with sutures. Sometimes, a liposuction procedure is also administered to completely remove the fat remaining inside and allow the surgeon to sculpt and contour your body to give you just the right curves.
There are other tummy tuck procedures like the Partial Abdominoplasty, which is performed on those who do not have a significant amount of skin and fat to be removed. It involves a smaller incision, but will still stretch the skin to create a lean stomach figure.
What happens after the abdominoplasty? And how long is the recovery time?
The recovery time varies from person to person, depending on the extent of the surgery performed. There will be bruising and swelling immediately after the surgery, which can be alleviated with ice packs and painkillers prescribed by your Surgeon.
You’ll also receive instructions from the Clinic Nurse on how to change the dressings to avoid infection.
You will be given an abdominal binder to wear: this helps to keep the abdomen in its new shape, and it’s recommended that you wear this for up to 6 weeks.
How much scarring will there be?
With extensive surgery, the scars may be prominent at first and are likely to look red and blotchy. Over time, the scars will fade, but they will not disappear completely.
Do you have any tummy tuck Before and After pictures?
Yes, you can see tummy tuck Before and After pictures here. They are all patients of Canova Medical who have kindly consented to let us use their photographs, as they are so happy with their results.
What if I have any other questions?

He will take the time to get to know you and your desired outcomes; obtain your medical history; and make recommendations based on your specific needs. There is a one-off £120 Consultation fee for surgical treatments.
Why is there a Consultation fee?
