Rhinoplasty, the surgical improvement of the nose’s appearance, is one of the most common forms of cosmetic surgery performed by cosmetic surgeries in the UK. The nose is in fact the central feature of the human face. It is one of the first things we notice when we look at a person.
The nose has a profound effect on how we appear. This is the primary reason why many people are self-conscious about their noses and may dislike its size and/or shape.

The terms “plastic surgery” and “cosmetic surgery” are not interchangeable. Confusion about the terms has led to public misconceptions about the two specialties. Cosmetic surgery is the surgery of appearance. It is elective and focuses on the aesthetics of beauty.
Fact: Cosmetic surgeons are qualified to conduct cosmetic surgery.
Cosmetic surgeons are dedicated to the art of cosmetic surgery. Their strong knowledge base, high level of training and practical experience make them among the most qualified physicians to perform cosmetic procedures. In fact, Botox®, laser technology and tumescent liposuction (widely regarded as the best type of liposuction) were developed by ophthalmologists and dermatologists.
Fact: Cosmetic procedures such as Botox®, microdermabrasion and liposuction are increasingly popular among men.
More and more men are seeking cosmetic surgery. According to the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery’s most recent procedural survey the top five most popular procedures among men are Botox, hair transplantation/restoration, laser hair removal, microdermabrasion and liposuction, in that order. Our members report that they continue to see more and more men visit their offices. Why do women get breast implants anyway? The answer is typically fairly obvious: to get larger breasts. Another, deeper answer might be to live up to society’s ideal—for better or for worse—as to what a woman should look like. And that is nothing new. You need only go back to the ‘Roaring Twenties’ to see how society shapes our view of feminine beauty—in that case, to the popular ‘flapper’ look, in which a shorthaired, flat-chested appearance was the chic female style.
In today’s world, where buxom is considered better, the question is whether the popularity of breast implants has changed our view of beauty, or whether our changing view of beauty has made the procedure popular.
No group feels that emotional impact quite as strongly as those who have lost a breast to cancer, says Dr. Lee, who notes that women who undergo mastectomies select breast reconstruction surgery at her practice some 90 percent of the time. “Having the [augmentation surgery plays a big part in restoring their emotional and physical health,” she says.
