What else can I expect at the Consultation?

The Surgeon will also assess your overall physical health. Any medical conditions will be discussed and evaluated, to ensure that you are a good candidate for surgery.
Who performs the thigh surgery?
Mr Maurizio Persico (Consultant Plastic Surgeon) performs the thigh lift surgery at our Cheshire clinic. You can read about Mr Persico here.
Where does the thigh reduction surgery take place?
Your Consultations will take place at our clinic, where the ambience is elegant yet relaxed. For the maximum in discretion you will never see another patient.
The thigh reduction surgery itself will be carried out a local private hospital. You’ll be given full details at your Consultation.
How do I prepare for thigh reduction surgery?
You will be fully informed about what you can eat and drink before the procedure, and any precautions regarding medications and smoking.
These are guidelines that you should follow to help ensure that your surgery will go smoothly and without any complications.
What happens during the thigh lift surgery?
There are two main types of thigh lift surgery, and your Surgeon will perform the procedure that best suits your needs. The two types of thigh surgery are:
1. Medial thigh lift
Your Surgeon will make an incision running along the groin. The Surgeon can then remove the excess skin and fat from the thigh area. This will allow your thighs to have a better shape and look more sculpted all around.
2. Outer thigh lift
This procedure is performed where it is mostly the outer thigh that needs re-shaping. This is sometimes known as “saddlebag surgery”. The fat in “saddlebags” is extremely resistant as it is an area for long-term storage of fat. It can be genetic as well, leaving otherwise slim women with disproportionately large thighs. Saddlebag surgery will often include some liposuction the thighs as well.
Will there be thigh liposuction as part of the thigh lift surgery?
It depends on your needs as to whether there will be liposuction on the thighs or not. It is quite common for there to be thigh liposuction, but it’s not essential. This will be discussed at your Consultation.
What happens after the thigh surgery?
You will be provided with elastic bandages and compression garments to protect your sutures and to keep your thighs tight.
Because the compression garments keep movement to a minimum, swelling will be reduced. However, there will be a small amount of swelling and bruising – this is common after any kind of surgery. This will heal over time, and you can manage the pain with prescribed painkillers.
You will need to rest your thighs for some time after surgery: you will be given full details at your Consultation.
You will have a post-surgery appointment with the Clinic Nurse 7 to 10 days after your thigh surgery to change the dressings and remove sutures.
Once you have recovered from your thigh surgery, you can expect the skin quality to be significantly improved in both appearance and feel.

He will take the time to get to know you and your desired outcomes; obtain your medical history; and make recommendations based on your specific needs. There is a one-off £120 Consultation fee.
Why is there a Consultation fee?
